Sinema ve Mimarlık Etkileşimi: Tim Burton Filmlerinde Modernizm Eleştirileri

Abstract

The fruitful interaction between the fields of cinema and architecture has started to be referred often. The authors provide a reading on the criticism of modernism raised by these two disciplines, which have close associations in the production and presentation of space, through analysing Tim Burton movies. The criticism rose towards 21st century modernism in the movies of Burton, who is after novel contextual and semantic structure, make it inevitable for the architectural discipline witnessing a period named as “super modern” as a derivation of the term “modern”, to start thinking about the past, present and future of the modern world.Birbirlerini besleyiş biçimleri sıklıkla dile getirilmeye başlanan iki alan sinema ve mimarlık. Yazarlar, mekânı üretme ve ortama sunma biçimi birbirleriyle yakından ilişkili bu iki disiplinin yaptığı modernizm eleştirisini, Tim Burton filmleri üzerinden okuyorlar. Filmlerinde yeni bir bağlamsal ve anlamsal kurulumun peşinde olan Burton’ın 20. yüzyılın modernizmine yönelik eleştirileri, 21. yüzyılda “modern” sözcüğünün türetilmesiyle “süper modern” olarak adlandırılan bir dönemi yaşayan mimarlık disiplini için geçmiş, güncel ve gelecek modern dünya hakkında düşünmeyi kaçınılmaz kılıyor.
